The month of Ramadan, the sultan of eleven months, whose beginning brings mercy, middle brings forgiveness, and end brings salvation from eternal punishment, is celebrated with great enthusiasm every year across the Islamic world. One of the most important aspects of Islamic worship philosophy is its impact on social life. For this reason, the social effects of Ramadan represent a spiritually significant period in which communal solidarity reaches its peak, and feelings of cooperation, unity, and brotherhood are strengthened. With the intensification of zakat and fitra (charitable almsgiving) during this month, awareness of sharing with those in need increases. Food aid and iftar gatherings strengthen social solidarity. Iftar tables bring families, relatives, and friends together, fostering social cohesion. The sense of unity and brotherhood in society grows. Experiencing hunger allows people to better understand the situation of those in need, cultivating feelings of compassion and empathy. Hostility and envy within the community decrease, creating a peaceful environment. Ramadan is seen as a period of psychological cleansing and spiritual renewal. Traditions such as tarawih prayers and pre-dawn meals (suhur) allow the excitement of communal worship to be experienced collectively. Mahyas (illuminated Ramadan decorations), drummers, and traditional Ramadan festivities add color to social life.
