The establishment of Çarşamba Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences within Ondokuz Mayıs University was decided with the decision numbered 2016/8562 at the meeting of the Council of Ministers on 25.01.2016 upon the proposal made by the Ministry of National Education with the letter dated 22/12/2015 and numbered 13210223 according to the additional article 30 of the law dated 28.03.1983 and numbered 2809. The decision entered into force after being published in the Official Gazette dated April 08, 2016 and numbered 29678.

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences comprises of the following departments:

8- Turkish Language and Literature

The service building of our faculty is located in Mustafa Kemal GÜNEŞDOĞDU Campus in Çarşamba district of Samsun. Our faculty service building, which was completed with the support of philanthropist businessman Mustafa Kemal GÜNEŞDOĞDU and his family, is planned in accordance with the needs of the social sciences field and provides education and training in line with the above-mentioned aims of our university with three floors of 30 classrooms/lecture halls and spacious working offices for academic and administrative staff.
