
Our Faculty Member Dr. Özkan Özer Keskin from the Department of History Appeared as a Guest on the Program “Ordu’s Historical Routes”
Dr. Özkan Özer Keskin, faculty member of the Department of History at Ondokuz Mayıs University, Çarşamba Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, participated as a guest on the program “Ordu’nun Tarihi Rotaları” (Ordu’s Historical Routes), broadcast on Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Web TV and prepared and hosted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Özkan and Dr. Kamil Yavuz from Ordu University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of History.
This week’s episode of the program, which aims to introduce the region’s historical and cultural heritage to a broad audience, focused on the Duayeri Mosque in Ordu/Fatsa. Dr. Keskin provided extensive information on various aspects of the mosque, including its architectural features, inscriptions, historical development, and the symbolic significance it holds for the local community. Evaluating the structure within the architectural traditions of the Ottoman period, he highlighted its importance in terms of both art history and regional identity.
Throughout the program, Dr. Keskin conveyed academic knowledge in a clear and accessible manner, also emphasizing the importance of such broadcasts in raising awareness about the preservation, documentation, and transmission of historical structures to future generations.
